Rocky Mountain High!

Hello all!
Well, not actually Rocky Mountain High.
I mean Mama is a very old
  FRIEND OF JOHN DENVER,
the Rocky Mountain king.
But this mountain,
I mean the mountain was very high!
Like 6,285 feet,
or some
crazy number,
and very rocky.

I have never had such a

NATURAL HIGH
IN
MY
ENTIRE LIFE.

First Merlin and I got to run around in the mountain meadow
at the bottom of the mountain.
You can see
that

EVERYONE IS PANTING
IN THIS PICTURE TAKEN BY PAPA.

Then
Mama,
she drove up,
and up,
and up
and
yikes
I mean I was getting dizzy.
I thought it would

NEVER END!!

But it did.
The trees were so
beautifully decked
in
yellow, and orange and red

LIKE THEY WERE GOING TO THE PROM
OR SOMETHING.

I DON'T KNOW.

Anyway,
we watched the trees change,
and the little green fuzzy stuff
I think they were called
LICHENS OR SOMETHING,
take over the mountain
and then

ALL OF A SUDDEN
OUT OF THE BLUE,
THE SKY BURST FORTH
LIKE LIGHT
THAT WAS FLOODING
OUR LITTLE HEARTS.

It was so blue the sky this day.

And once we were no longer

SHELTERED,
AND
I MEAN
SHELTERED,

by forest on either side of this

LONG AND WINDING ROAD,

the expanse into the eastern horizon
OPENED UP
LIKE A BREATH
OF
FRESH AIR.

It was as if

LIGHT AND JOY
WAS A THING
THAT  COULD BE TOUCHED

AS IT FLOODED IN,
SURROUNDING US

and all we could do

IS
STOP,
PAUSE,
LOOK,
AND BE PRESENT IN THIS
INCREDIBLE PLACE.

It seemed like hours to the top
but in reality only one half hour had passed.

We got out of our truck
pulled out the sitting chairs,
faced the eastern horizon mountain range that was glorious
it its palette of every shade of gold, red, yellow, orange
and we all sat down
and had our picnic.

DID YOU KNOW THAT MAMA LOVES PICNICS?

She could tell you about
a few interesting places
that she and Papa
have had picnics.

Her personal favorite is having a picnic
in Baltimore Maryland
in the cemetery
where
Edgar Allen Poe
is buried.
Ask her to tell the story some day.

Anyway,
once we were done with lunch we went

EXPLORING UP TO  THE VERY TOP.

It was very cool and we met some really nice people.

Now the first person who approached us, because of course
Mama was carrying

LITTLE O'L ME

up the last flight of stairs to the top was Chris.

You can see him with me here.
He told us all about his girlfriend
who had a doxie
who was a short haired red.
He was originally from Connecticut
but currently lives in Boston.
He said it was one of the things about doxies,
that once you pick them up they just melt in your
arms. They are so sweet.

It was so

VERY COOL

how many people talked to us about their dogs this day.
So many of them had such great stories about their doxies.

What is it about dogs that no matter who you are,

COMPLETE STRANGERS,
I MEAN
COMPLETE STRANGERS
WILL
WALK RIGHT UP AND TALK TO YOU
LIKE YOU ARE A LONG LOST RELATIVE,
AND IN SOME WAYS,
I GUESS
ALL DOG OWNERS
ARE RELATED.

Here is a picture of me and Danny.
He was so cute and was only two years old. .
I wanted to
KISS HIM ALL OVER.

I AM DEFINITELY GIVING HIM
THE EYE!

His parents said he
LOVED DOGS

and the keys hanging from
Mama's lanyard.

Chris and his family were from Rhode Island.

We were truly
having a

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH
EXPERIENCE!

And so,
Dharma's Do's?

Do know
that
DOG LOVER'S
ARE
EVERYWHERE!!

EMBRACE THE LOVE!

Special thanks to Danny and his family
and Chris for letting us use their pictures.

Have a great day and thanks for checking in!!
