Hello Everybody!! This past week has been a ROLLER COASTER RIDE ACROSS THE HILLS AND DALES of MY NEIGHBORHOOD! We spent the week putting up my flyers AND visiting many schools and reading my book. This picture was in a storefront window in the MILFORD OVAL HERE IN N.H.. The owner JORDAN said, YES TAKE THE PICTURE AND PUT THE FLYER IN THE PAW OF THE CREATURE. He said this picture was painted by the HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS at MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL! Very cool, huh? THANK YOU JORDAN! GREAT JOB MILFORD STUDENTS! It has been an interesting week all! We are getting ready again for our next book event at the Toadstool Bookstore in Milford N.H. on Saturday Dec. 1 a 3:00. I GET TO GOOOO! I GET TO GOOOO! I am very excited! It will be the VERY FIRST TIME that I get to PUT MY MARK IN MY BOOK! How cool is that? You can see the picture above of the MILFORD OVAL Small New England town, a circle with a small park and gazebo with all the stores ALL AROUND! YOU GET THE PICTURE? YES, WE DO! They told me all about it GOING ROUND, AND ROUND, AND ROUND. They talked to so many REALLY COOL PEOPLE! They visited AAron at A & D Compuer who built their computer at home for them. NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL A TECHIE! Don't you JUST LOVE IT CHICKA BOOM, CHICKA BOOM, when you have something done with computers AND IT IS DONE CORRECTLY THE VERY FIRST TIME? Thank you to the Children's Librarian Trina McLenon, at the Wadleigh Library in Milford for putting our flyer up RIGHT AT THE FRONT DESK. Thank you for the folks at the RED ARROW DINNER for putting up our flyer RIGHT ON THE EXIT DOOR SO EVERYBODY COULD SEE IT as they left the restaurant. Thank you for the folks at the Union Grill who said "Of Course, put it right in the window!". And the folks at the Cafe on the Oval (Papa says the best breakfast place in town), who said "of course, and we will tell our patrons ALL ABOUT IT!" Thanks to Irene at the Jacques Memorial School for helping us be able to pass out the flyers at the elementary school. Thank you Bonnie at the Mont Vernon Village Library for posting our flyer. At the Antique Co-op, they not only took the flyer, but showed us some very cool Dachshund furniture created by Stephen Huneck from Dog Mountain in Vermont. What a great time at the Peterborough Toadstool Bookstore! I mean I met so many great kids who came JUST TO SEE ME!! WHOO HOO!! The picture you see here was drawn by one little girl who's name was Caroline. She drew the picture JUST FOR LITTLE OLD ME! HOW SO VERY SWEET. She was SOOOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED when she heard Dharma was coming on Saturday. She had a track meet AND COULD NOT COME. HOW SAD. WHEN I HEARD THE STORY IT ALMOST MADE ME CRY! But then we had a BIG O'L NEW ENGLAND SNOW STORM ON FRIDAY AND WHOO HOO she got a SNOW DAY! Them kids must have been doing their SNOW DANCE ALL DAY ON THURSDAY! And so, because of that, her track meet for Saturday was cancelled so she got to come. How cool is that? We all got to learn and SING MY SONG TOGETHER!! WE ALSO RAFFLED TWO BOOKS OFF AND THREE T-SHIRTS and generally had a WONDERFUL TIME!
And so I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving Holiday. Here is our turkey giving a GREAT BIG GOBBLE GOBBLE HELLO! Our friends who came to visit brought him along with them. HOPE EVERYONE IS WELL. And everybody, please SHARE Dharma's stories with anyone you know. I WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT! Love and Kisses!
Dharma Dharma! Here we are IN Cape May New Jersey. We are GETTING PIZZA and you say, OKAY LIKE, WHO CARES? I am watching Mama and Papa through the front window of the truck as they are sitting at a table waiting for their TAKE OUT. SUDDENLY THERE IS THIS WOMAN NEAR PAPA'S SEAT, THE DRIVING SEAT AND SHE IS, I THINK, KISSING THE WINDOW. OKAY I think, that is kind of INTERESTING, BUT WHAT THE HEY, WHY NOT? So Papa comes out because he does not know what is going on and this is when we meet IGA AND MATTHEW!! IGA and Matthew are from New Jersey. The first thing she says to Papa is I AM FOR DOGS 200%!! DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT!! At home, IGA and Matthew have Daisy. She is a doxie Pomeranian mix that they got from N. Carolina. On this day they are on a little road trip into southern New Jersey. So my Papa, EVER THE GENTLEMAN says WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET OUR LITTLE DHARMA? They were so happy to meet me. IGA WAS NOT KISSING THE WINDOW! SHE WAS KISSING ME!! HAH!! Don't ya just love it chicka boom chicka boom!! Ha Ha! And so I hope you enjoyed the pictures of us all together.
Hello to IGA and Matthew. I hope you are well. Let me know how Daisy is doing! I hope you all enjoyed my little story. Dharma Hugs! Dharma Dharma HELLO ALL. Here I am sitting in the doorway of our little camper wondering at the sight that is before me. IT IS A PONY! WHOO HOO! We are camping at Assateague National Seashore which is in Maryland. Mama and Papa and I and Merlie Boy went to the seashore and HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. IT WAS 50 degrees out. WE HAD BLUE SKIES THE COLOR OF ROBIN'S EGGS. WE SAW SEALS IN THE SURF AND SPENT HOURS AT THE CAMPSITE WATCHING THE FIRE AT NIGHT. I MEAN HOURS. THE SKY WAS SO FULL OF STARS with EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM TWINKLING JUST LIKE LITTLE STARS. We WALKED THE BEACH, COLLECTED SEA SHELLS, HORSE SHOE CRAB SHELLS TALKED TO FOLKS AND JUST ENJOYED BEING TOGETHER. HERE IS PAPA CALLING TO US. COME ON UP AND SEE THE VIEW! YOU COULD SEE THE SEALS PLAYING IN THE SURF. My favorite story from camping at Assateague? On our second morning there Mama is FEEDING US HOUNDS. THIS PONY, THE SIZE OF SOCKS OUR OLD COB PONY came to visit while Mama was getting her and Papa's breakfast. I was in my little pen, Merlin was out by the fire pit, and Mama was in the camper, for only a brief second. When she looked up she saw this pony in the window and this pony, NOT A LITTLE GUY YOU CAN BE SURE, had found our dog food bucket. You know the kind? Plastic with a screw top. THIS BIG BOY had the bucket on the ground AND HE WAS POUNDING IT. I MEAN SLAMMING IT WITH HIS RIGHT HOOF. KABANG, KABANG, KABANG. I guess he thought that there was some food in it that HE MIGHT LIKE TO WOOF UP, GOBBLE, SLOBBER OVER. WELL YOU GET THE DRIFT. So Mama comes out and waves him away and out he heads, to join the herd of ponies at the next camp site. So she then goes back into the camper. I AM LIKE, NO MAMA, NO, DON'T LEAVE ME! BARK BARK BARK BARK. She comes running right out. OUR GUY IS BACK! This time, HE IS EATING THE REMAINS OF Merlin's food. A couple of tablespoons was left on the picnic table in his dog food dish. THAT PONY ? HE WOOFED IT UP and knocked Merlin's dish under the picnic table. I guess he thought, Hmmmmmmmm, food, a dinner dish, my height WHY NOT! So Mama waved him away and removed all of the POSSIBLE PONY FOOD at this time because as she knew PONIES CANNOT DIGEST DOGGIE FOOD. I am sure the pony DID NOT AGREE! BUT MAMA KNEW BEST. Dharma's Do's? Do go traveling with your dogs. THEY WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT. Do check out the Ponies at the ASSATEAGUE NATIONAL SEASHORE but REMEMBER Keep your doggie food put away. Dharma Hugs! Dharma Dharma!
Here is today's DOXIE TALE! I hope you enjoy it. South Philly KOA Campground. Yowza! What a great time. Did I tell you that my Papa was a West Philadelphia Speed Boy? Been born and raised in the city of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. Anyway, it was great to meet new friends at the KOA IN SOUTH PHILLY. Here I am with Mama and Auntie Monica and Cousin Bentley. Did you know that my family is huge. I mean HUGE!! Everyone I meet is a LONG LOST COUSIN, A DISTANT AUNT OR UNCLE, OR SOMEONE THAT I DID NOT KNOW I WAS EVEN RELATED TO UNTIL I MET THEM! I LOVE BEING A DOXIE! GUESS WHAT? BENTLEY is going through Socialization School JUST LIKE ME! His Mama, my LONG LOST AUNTIE MONICA calls him a DASHHOUND. That is so cute. Auntie Monica said that they had gotten him in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country here in Pennsylvania only a little bit more than a year ago. Anyway, when Bentley and I first saw each other it was like the KNOCK DOWN AT THE KOA CORRAL!! I mean HIM AND ME we were FLYING AT EACH OTHER. So Mama sat down and she helped Auntie Monica and Bentley and Me all learn to GET IT about each other. And though we are not long lost buddies, we definitely learned a few things WHEN WE WERE TOGETHER. Like, yeah, its okay not to go SCREAMING LIKE A BANSHEE after someone you don't know. A better way to look at it it to realize that sometimes a doxie stranger, is just a friend, or a relative, you haven't met yet. A little side story here. One one of Mama's morning walks at the campground she met Sue and Ollie. Sue said "it was the face that did it". His face was so endearing. She could not resist BRINGING HIM HOME. She eventually ended up with two doxies. WHAT IS IT ABOUT DACHSHUNDS? Anyway, Sue was from Long Island. She said that Ollie was so tenacious that once when they moved, and his crate was not set up yet, they tied him to a 2 by 4 piece of wood in the yard to keep him in one place. They learned quickly, that if he was left alone, that he could be seen, dragging that 2 by 4 half way down the street. FUNNY HUH? Here is me and Monica and Bentley. You can see Bentley likes to lick a lot also. . Here I am with Uncle Donnie. He told me that Bentley has his own BOOSTER SEAT. And that he loves sitting in his seat AS THEY ARE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY LOOKING FOR ADVENTURE!! Uncle Donnie said he and Auntie Monica and little Bentley, LOVED attending THE WIENER DOG RACES down in Savannah Georgia. The things you learn! I LOVED THAT BEING A GEORGIA GIRL MYSELF! We had so much in common. LITTLE DID WE KNOW. Anyway, their Bentley, he can see right outside those front windows OF THAT BIG O'L RV from his BUMPER SEAT. HE LOVES IT!! Donnie and Monica are WORKAMPERS at the KOA that we stayed at. They are originally from Arkansas and have traveled around the whole country. I MEAN THE WHOLE COUNTRY. It is all very cool. The Donnie and Monica Family are learning new things about doxies EVERY SINGLE DAY. We loved being there at the SOUTH PHILLY KOA and are definitely GOING BACK. When we WAVED THEM GOODBY they were in EXPECTATION of their grandson, little Zaydon who was coming to visit, all the way from Savannah Georgia to stay until THANKSGIVING. HELLO LITTLE ZAYDEN!! What FUN that will be! I AM jealous. And so goodbye for today.
I hope you liked my story. Hello to Auntie Monica, Uncle Donnie and cousin Bentley. I hope you have safe travels to your next HOME ON THE ROAD. Keep in touch. Love, DharmaDharmaDoxie |
