Hello FRIEND'S OF DHARMA!
Hello everybody.
What a fun time we had this week.
HERE I AM WITH TRAVIS
AT "WPKZ"
radio station in Fitchburg Mass.
As you can see here, I am on the couch with Papa and we are
both watching
OUR MAMA
  be interviewed by
OUR NEW FRIEND TRAVIS.
Check out our interview here:

Did I tell you that Travis's
BEST BUD
IS OLLIE?

Ollie is a Hound Mix and will be 7 soon.
His Papa Travis and Mama Ashley adopted him from a shelter in Virginia.
He and his "LITTLE SIS" had been shoved through the fence at the shelter.
I guess at least a person knew they might be helped there.

Mama told me that once when she lived in the country she came home to find a baby bunny in a cardboard box with a wilted piece of lettuce on her doorstep. Ah well, I guess those people also though others would take care of their pet. Sad actually.

Now Ollie loves to listen to songs on the radio
especially BAND MAROON  5 "Animals", Wiz Khalifa's "See you Again"
and The Weekends "Can't Feel My Face".

MY GOSH THIS DOG is a MUSIC LOVER!
Well, with a Papa like Travis, like,
how could he not be.

He said that when Ollie hears the band, he will stop
CHEWING HIS BONE,
just to listen in.
He has very expressive eyes,
so it is
very funny to hear him
HOWL ALONG!

You go Ollie!

Travis says "DON'T WE JUST LOVE OUR DOGS"!
It is so true.
He pulled out his cell phone,
QUICK ON THE DRAW,
just like the LONE RANGER,
and out came
PICTURES OF OLLIE.
They were sweet.

Travis was telling us
ALL ABOUT THE BOOK
"RESCUE AND JESSICA"

the true story about
Boston Marathon bombing survivors
Jessica Kensky and
Patrick Downs
and their service dog
RESCUE.
CHECK IT OUT!

 What a fun time.
Mama was like
"BABY GIRL
WHY DON'T YOU
TRY THIS OUT?"

That is Mama's
ENDEARING NAME FOR ME,
BABY GIRL.

How sweet.
She says that she
GOT THE IDEA
from another teacher
when she was teaching in
Nashua.

ISN'T IT INTERESTING HOW THE  SWEET THINGS IN LIFE, GET CARRIED OVER TO OUR DOGS.

She said that the teacher
called her daughter,
BABY GIRL.

DOG'S ARE LIKE FOREVER YOU KNOW.

NO GOING BACK TO THE JUNGLE NOW.
WE ARE IN FOR THE WHOLE JOURNEY,
THE WHOLE
KIT AND CABOODLE.

ISN'T LIFE GRAND?

Ollie's brother is BANDIT.
He joined the TRAVIS FAM & is about
a year and one half.

This poor little guy was found
ALL ALONE UNDER A PORCH BEHIND SOMEONES HOUSE.
I MEAN, COME ON PEOPLE,
REALLY?

What a snuggler and face kisser
and hugger this little guy is.
Not a
HOWLER LIKE OLLIE but more like a
"I'M SO LONESOME I COULD CRY" response.
A LITTLE CRY IS BANDIT'S SIGH.

This little guy came all the way from an island through

POTCAKE PLACE K9 RESCUE in the Turk and Caicos Islands to his FOREVER HOME.

AIN'T LOVE GRAND?

Hello FRIEND'S OF DHARMA!

What is spring about anyway.
We think of
trees budding down the lane
and the crocus popping up
as the robin sings her refrain
spring is here
spring is here.

So here is a picture of me right before my first Easter.
GOSH, SWEETER THAN BEE POLLEN HUH?
Picture
Here is my Mama with the baby sparrow she rescued from the water bucket at Friendly Farm in Dublin, N.H.
Picture
Picture
Uncle Jeff holding our baby goats.
At one time my Mama and Papa had a daddy goat name Merlot and a mommy goat named Chardonnay. These are the baby twin goats they had one spring.
WHAT A HAND FULL HUH?
Here is Auntie Kelly with her baby bunny.
What a happy time!

Picture
Stoney Wall was like, I know it's SPRING but really, do I really have to wear the pink hat Auntie Heather?
Picture
Here is Uncle Robbie with his goat friend.

Spring is about goats, and chicks and kittens.
All the baby animals that we love
Like snow and mittens
We cuddle and we hug
And keep them up tight
As we dream of the summer
During the long spring time night

Thank you everybody
for going with me down memory lane.

Across the Pond they go!

Hello FRIEND'S OF DHARMA!
Hey guys.

I AM SAD.
NOT LONELY, JUST A LITTLE SAD.
MAMA AND PAPA,
WELL
NO WAY TO PUT IT LIGHTLY,
HAVE GONE
ACROSS THE POND!

Yes, up in the sky, through the clouds up high,
across the BIG BLUE WIDE,
they are gone,
AWAY FROM ME
INTO THE HANDS OF THEE

the SCOTS MEN YOU SEE!

Yup, they went to Scotland.
Going to hang out with the Albannach Boys and Sister Jacquie for a week.
WHAT A HOOT IT WILL BE.

Picture
Picture
After a week of tour
with the Albannach boys
they will head out on the train,
to London, they say.
And on a beautiful spring day,
they will head out again,
to see stones that are tall
and ancient and are friends.

Now I know that my Mama has been
telling me about this for months.

TRYING TO HELP ME BE READY.
WELL, I AM NEVER READY
WHEN
MY MAMA  AND PAPA GO AWAY.

But, it is after all OK
BECAUSE I'VE GOT SUSAN!
Now not everybody has a Susan.
ONCE UPON A TIME
us "FUR BABIES"
would go to kennels when
THE OLD FOLKS WENT AWAY.
Wizzer and Kira went to kennels
BUT IT BECAME
VERY SAD,
SO MAMA AND PAPA
STOPPED THAT.

Picture
Our little boy
WIZZER,
aka Stoney Wall
when he was just a babe.

Picture

Here is their story.
The last time Mama and Papa traveled and put "the guys" in kennels they were gone two weeks.
Kira went to a kennel in Merrimack. He knew the kennel owner very well
as he had helped Kira to LEARN HIS MANNERS. This trip Mama and Papa were gone two weeks.

THAT CAN BE LIKE A ETERNITY
TO A DOG
DON'T YOU THINK?
AFTER ALL,
WE ONLY LIVE FOR TEN TO FIFTEEN YEARS.

TWO WEEKS IS LIKE, WHAT, A PEOPLE YEAR FOR A DOG?

And so when they came back, POOR KIRA, was just laying in the kennel, and clearly VERY SAD. They felt VERY BAD. It was not that the kennel owner did not take care of him well, it was just that
HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS FAM.
HE FELT ABANDONED.
Where was his LITTLE BUD?

For WIZZER, when Mama and Papa picked him up at his kennel,
HE DID NOT RECOGNIZE WHO THEY WERE.
He also was just laying there, not responding,
and anyone who met the WIZZER knew,
WELL THAT'S NOT RIGHT!

Anyway Mama carried him away from the place,
AND HELD HIM IN HER ARMS while Papa drove them home.
It was about ten minutes down the road before
HE REALIZED, HE REALIZED
THAT HIS FAM HAD COME TO TAKE HIM HOME.

He did not realize that it WAS THEM, THOSE THAT HE LOVED.
HE WAS SO HAPPY,
SO VERY TRULY HAPPY.

So the folks decided THEN AND THERE
that there would be not more KENNELS FOR THESE BOYS.

We have had many people take care of us over the  years,
but SUSAN has been with us the longest.
It is great, we get to sit on the couch together,
JUST SHE AND ME.
EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A SUSAN.

Picture
So Mama and Papa have a
WONDERFUL TIME.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO GET BACK SO WE CAN START
OUR ADVENTURES TOGETHER!

Before you know it
we will be
ON THE ROAD AGAIN!

Hello FRIEND'S OF DHARMA!
Don't you just
 LOVE GOOD FRIENDS?
Here is me and Kurt. I just finished licking his face. What a good sport, huh?
Kurt is the
HEAD HONCHO,
BIG GUY,
MAN AT THE TOP
AT
HOLLIS PUBLISHING.

Picture
This is Nikko and he is a big 5 years old now
and a Siberian Husky.
Kurt is Nikko's
MAIN MAN,
HEAD HONCHO,
BIG GUY,
you name it.
What does this dog
LOVE,
AND I MEAN,
LOVE?
Taking that
LONG, LONG, LONG,
AND I MEAN LONG WALK
in the woods in the
EARLY, EARLY, EARLY MORNING
with the BIG GUY.
Kurt says that when he greets him each day,
he HOWLS like the TRUE SIBERIAN HE IS at the first sight of his car.
At the window, WAITING, and WAITING and WATCHING from the window,
OUT HE RUNS TO GREET HIM. It always, ALWAYS puts a smile on Kurt's face.
"NOT A MEAN BONE IN HIS BODY", KURT SAYS.
"I think Nikko believes that EVERYONE is here for his entertainment".  How cool is that.
Happy SNOW DAY Nikko!

Picture
This is me and Christyann.
It was
SWEETER THAN
BEE POLLEN
sitting with her and
MUGGING.

Christyann was
WONDER WOMAN
graphic designer for my book.
Crystyann has many animal friends in her life and shared stories with our

VERY OWN MAMA!

This is CHIQUITA and she is 40 years old!
OH MY GOODNESS.
She is a double yellow-nape Amazon Parrot!
Funny, a bird named after a banana.
Anyway, She
SINGS, AND TALKS AND DANCES!
That's like a WHOLE STAGE CREW!
Ha!
Below is Jack. He is 13,
AN OLDIE
BUT A GOODIE LIKE ME!

Jack believes that
CHIQUITA IS HIS BIG TOY.
Sitting there in his cage,
JUST WAITING for
Jack to jump in and play.
AND HE GETS ANNOYED WHEN HE CAN'T.
TOO FUNNY!

Picture
Picture
Picture
Here is Christyann and JACK'S CREW.
Jack is a miniature schnauzer who Christyann fostered along with his four pack mates,
3 mini schnauzers and A schnoodle.
Does ANYONE HAVE A CLUE WHAT A SCHNOODLE IS?
Anyway, Jack is now an only dog and LOVES playing fetch, although he doesn't really understand the "BRING YOUR BALL BACK TO ME" part of the game. GO FIGURE!
Anyway, thank you to Kurt and Christyann for telling us about their animal buddies.
Isn't  LOVE GRAND!
